Scope

These terms apply to the use of the Offtimism app for iOS. The provider is Jan Schiller, Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße 9, 75015 Bretten, Germany (see legal notice). The contract for using the app is concluded when you create an account.

Offtimism is only intended for people aged 18 and over.

What Offtimism does

Offtimism helps you limit your screen time. You set a daily limit for selected apps. Once it is reached, iOS locks the app via Apple's Screen Time. If you want to keep going, you extend the app in blocks of 5 minutes. The app shows you what an extension costs before each extension.

For locks to work, you must allow Offtimism to access Screen Time. You can revoke this access at any time in the iOS settings; Offtimism will then no longer lock apps. Locking and counting depend on iOS. We do our best to keep things running smoothly but cannot promise that they work at all times.

Extensions and test statements

During the beta, all amounts in the app are test amounts. You pay nothing, neither to us nor to other members of your groups. Every Monday you receive a test statement for the previous week. Instead of paying, you close the week by briefly getting in touch with us.

Separate terms apply after the beta. You agree to them before your first extension that costs money.

Groups and settlement

In a group, you set shared rules. The person who manages the group sets the group name and rules; existing rules only change if all members agree. Before you join, the app shows you what the other members see about you. During the beta, the group settlement is only a test as well: nobody pays anything to other members.

Group names and rule names are visible to all members and to anyone who knows the invite link. Choose them so that they do not hurt anyone and do not break the law. We may remove illegal content. You can report it to info@offtimism.com.

Beta phase

Offtimism is still in development. Features may change or be removed, and there may be bugs. Using the app is free during the beta. We welcome bug reports and ideas, most easily via "Feedback" in the app.

If the beta ends, we will let you know in advance in the app or by email.

Termination and deletion

You can end the contract at any time without notice by deleting your account in the app under "Profile" → "Delete account" or by writing to us at info@offtimism.com. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy.

We may terminate the contract with two weeks' notice, for example when the beta ends. Both sides retain the right to terminate without notice for good cause. If we change these terms, we will let you know in advance in the app.
